Together we can make Erie an economic powerhouse

My name is Dan Nick and I want to be your next Erie City Councilman. I was born and raised in Erie. I graduated from Mercyhurst Prep and received my BA in History from Gannon University. After graduation, my journey took me 3,000 miles across the United States to Las Vegas. I received my Masters Degree specializing in Cyberterrorism and Information Warfare. I got a job at the Las Vegas Veterans Affairs as a program analyst and worked for the VA for 14 years. In 2014, I moved back to Erie and started Fingers Crossed Erie, a web and mobile development company.

When I first started thinking about running for Erie City Council, I was taken back to the people who inspired me to get involved in public service. I always used to sit and listen to my grandparents, aunts, and uncles talk about politics. Without question my family played an important role in Erie and continues to do so today. My grandfather Al Perseo owned Al’s Barber Shop for 65 years on Brown Ave. My grandmother Kitty Perseo was a champion bowler who managed Rolling Meadow Bowling Lanes. My uncles Ben and Amedeo Agresti founded the first Osteopathic Hospital in Erie which is now the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM).

Now it is my turn to shape Erie, to bring the morals and values of the past with me as I embark on this journey to become your next Erie City Councilman. While it is good to reflect on the past for guidance, we must continue to look toward the future and bring about change to Erie. A change where Erie can become an economic powerhouse.
